How to Play
1. The two players to the left of the dealer put out blind bets.
The dealer is indicated with a small button placed in front of him with the letter 'D' Marked on it.
The player directly to the dealer's left puts out the small blind while the player two to the dealer's left puts out the big blind.
During tournament play this will increase.
2. Each player is dealt two cards, face down. These are called hole or pocket cards.
3. The action, or the first move, falls on the player to the left of the big blind who can either call the bet, raise it, or fold. Betting continues around the table, clockwise.
Note: A raise must be of equal value or greater than that of the big blind.
4. After the betting is completed, three cards are dealt face up in the center of the table, which is referred to as the board.
The first three cards in Texas Hold'em are called the flop. These cards are "community cards" meaning everyone can use them in combination with their own hole cards to make the best hand.
5. From the flop on, betting begins with the player to the dealer's left, who can check or bet.
Check: If no one has yet opened the betting round, a player may pass or check, which is equivalent to calling the current bet of zero. When checking, a player declines to make a bet; this indicates that he does not wish to open, but does wish to keep his cards and retain the right to call or raise later in the same round if an opponent opens.
6. A fourth card is dealt face up onto the board. This is called fourth street or the turn card.
Players then may check or bet.
7. The final card is dealt face up. This card is also called fifth street or the river.
Again players may bet or check.
8. After the final round of betting the player with the best hand will win the pot.
Should the best hand be held by two or more players the pot will be split.
